Film Suggestion - "3 idiots"

No post de hoje venho trazer-vos uma sugestão cinematográfica.

        Quero dar-vos a minha opinião acerca de um filme que vi recentemente, tem como título “3 idiotas”, é de 2009, e vem directamente de Bollywood. Já tinha visto alguns filmes de Bollywood e nunca fiquei desiludida, mas desconhecia este por completo (falta minha), até porque foi um marco na história ao ser o primeiro filme indiano a ser oficialmente lançado no YouTube. E quem o vê sente que ele só veio provar, mais uma vez (não nos esqueçamos do grande marco da sétima arte, slumdog millionaire) que não é só da América que vêm os grandes marcos do cinema e que não é preciso efeitos especiais de toda a espécie para nos deixar agarrados ao ecrã. Tenho a dizer em primeiro lugar que há muito tempo que não me prendia tanto um filme do inicio ao fim, independentemente das suas 3 horas. Sim, 3 horas. Parece-vos muito? Acreditem que não dão pelo tempo passar – Especialmente se forem acompanhadas com umas deliciosas pipocas. 

      O enredo começa com Farhan sentado no avião quando recebe uma chamada que lhe trás a notícia do paradeiro de o seu amigo de Universidade que desaparecera logo após o fim da formatura. Ele deixa o avião e corre para apanhar um outro amigo de longa data, Raju. Os dois encontram-se com snobe Chatur e seguem então uma viagem em busca de Rancho. Durante a viagem é dado a conhecer ao espectador as peripécias vividas pelos 3 amigos na melhor escola de engenharia da índia, num tempo em que os rapazes deveriam ser engenheiro e as raparigas médicas. E é através do olhar dos amigos que o espectador fica a perceber a importância que teve Rancho na vida deles. 

      Mas desengane-se quem pensa que este filme não passa de uma simples comédia. Nada disso. “3 Idiotas” é muito mais que isso! Não pode ser definido num único género pois traz-nos alguns momentos de drama, acção e alguma musicalidade (quem não sabe que Bollywood é conhecida por nos dar brilhantes momentos musicais).

      As personagens estão bem construídas e muito realistas, a montagem é simples e ritmada, e apesar do enredo simples o filme consegue transmitir-nos temas como: a influência e pressão da família na escolha de uma carreira profissional; formação formatada, ou seja, que não oferece estímulo à construção de novos pensamentos; O verdadeiro significado da amizade; A procura pela autorrealização; Seguir o nosso coração e fazer o que nos faz feliz versus fazer igual à concorrência e ganhar muito dinheiro com isso. Ainda ficamos a conhecer um pouco mais sobre o modo de vida e a cultura indiana, que para quem gosta de história é sempre a cereja no topo do bolo de ver um filme estrangeiro.  

       “3 Idiotas” foi realmente uma lufada de ar fresco no meu dia. E um aviso, os primeiros dez minutos não fazem jus ao que o filme acaba por ser. Ele encontra-se disponível com legendas em português e não é difícil encontra-lo.

In today's post I will bring you a film suggestion.

      I’m gonna give you my opinion about a movie I saw recently, "3 idiots", is from 2009, and comes straight from Bollywood. I’ve seen a few Bollywood films and they never left me disappointed, but I was completely unaware of this (my bad). “3 idiots” was a mark in history for becoming the first Indian film to be officially released on YouTube. This movie came to prove – one more time (don’t forget the great mark of the seventh art, slumdog millionaire) that is not only from America that comes the great landmarks of cinema and its not necessary all kinds of special effects to leave us stuck into the screen. I have to say, first, that its been a long time since I really hold into a movie from beggining to the end, regardless of its 3 hours. Yes, 3 hours. Seems many hours, doesn’t it? Believe me, the will fly - especially if you are accompanied with some delicious popcorn.

The plot begins with Farhan sitting on the plane when he receives a phone cal that bring the news of his friend from University who disappeared shortly after the end of graduation. He leaves the plane and runs to catch another longtime friend, Raju. Both along with the snob Chatur follow a journey to search for Rancho. During the trip is show to the viewer the adventures  and experienced of the 3 friends in the best engineering school in India, at a time when boys should be engineers and girls, medics. And it is through the eyes of friends that the spectator realize the importance Rancho had in their lives.

But don’t think that this movie is just a simple comedy. Nota t all. "3 Idiots" is much more than that! Can’t be defined in a single genre, because it brings us some moments of drama, action and some musicality (who doesn’t know that Bollywood is known for giving us brilliant musical moments).

The characters are well constructed and very realistic, composition is simple and rhythmic, and despite of the simple plot the film can send brilliant messages such as: family influence and pressure on choosing  that particular career ; formatted formation, not providing incentive to the construction of new thoughts; the true meaning of friendship; the achieving of self-fulfillment; follow our heart and do what makes us happy versus be like everyone else and earn lots of money with it. Above all of that we can get, also, know a little more about the way of life and Indian culture, which, for those who like history, is always the cerry on top of the cake from see a foreign film .

" 3 Idiots " was really a breath of fresh air in my day. But Im gonna give you a warning, the first ten minutes are not make justice to what the movie turns out to be. It is available with subtitles in Portuguese, and it is not hard to find it.
